Monday Tunes: I listened to some of The Adventure Zone podcast while doing various things around the house after work.

Something I’m looking forward to today: Seeing one of my baseball players play soccer.

Something I’m looking forward to in the next seven days: Going to the Yankees-Royals playoff game tomorrow!

Something I’m grateful for from yesterday: My double-TV sports setup from last night.

What I’m writing: It’s a tasty edition of News-B-Nuts, as we’re talkin’ tacos and breakfast cereal. We’re also talking about our parental regrets, hope for those with depression, and something called dead-butt syndrome. Open up and say “News Nuggies.” It’s time to eat.

What I’ve written: Developing a Future that is Loud and Clear: Jakob Kuemmerle is applying his MLDS knowledge to a startup company, born in Northwestern’s Garage, that is hoping to change the hearing aid industry. (Sometimes, a writer falls in love with his lede: “Jakob Kuemmerle wants to cut through the noise in an industry centered on cutting through the noise.”)

I would do just about anything to avoid throwing up. I hate throwing up. I hate being around anyone who is even remotely considering throwing up. If someone throws up around me, I am highly likely to join that person in throwing up. And so I take pride in the fact that it’s been well over two years since I threw up.

That streak was in serious jeopardy when I woke up this morning. I felt fine when I went to bed, though a tad annoyed that my Yankees sucked it up in Game 2 vs. the Royals. I awoke at just after 5 a.m. and immediately felt as if The Streak was gonna end.

It’s now three-plus hours later, and the worst of that feeling has passed, but I still feel blah and dizzy. I’m wondering if the latter has to do with this neck issue that not only has remained since I had the nerve burning a month ago but actually gotten worse. I doubt it, but I feel like a truck hit me at the moment, and that’s no bueno because I have a playoff baseball game to go to tomorrow. If I miss that, I’m going to be an unhappy camper.
