Something I’m grateful for from yesterday: A fun day of family stuff — BTY’s cross-country meet, coming home to watch Mizzou get pasted (ouch) and the Yankees win Game 1 vs. the Royals.

What I’m writing: Yesterday’s Two Crappy Pages involved some rewrite work for a story for a client of Johnny Boy Marketing.

What I’ve written: I always find it funny when I see book listings for Jacob’s Story like this: “Jacob’s Story: a journey of faith. SIGNED by author” Because my signature is worth so much.

October is so beautiful. The weather is finally turning from swamp-ass Missourah summer to livable Missourah fall, sure. But sports? Sports is where it’s at.

You’ve got college football, professional football, playoff baseball, the start of the NHL season, and the start of the NBA season. And hey, if you’re one of those weirdos who super-dig the WNBA, I’m pretty sure their playoffs are still going on, too. Maybe there’s some soccer stuff happenings. Who knows?

Away from the ranks of the professionals (and yes, that includes college football), there are my own kid’s sports. BTY is still working on his baseball skillz, competing in cross country, and ramping up for basketball season. To say he’s a busy kid is an understatement.

October is the most wonderful sports time of the year, and I’m enjoying it … a lot.
