Something I’m looking forward to today: An office day and a few meetings with people who are fun to talk with.

Something I’m looking forward to in the next seven days: The start of the NFL season.

Something I’m grateful for from yesterday: The meal the Terrific Trio put together. Boy The Younger created a rub for ribs, Wifey Poo baked the ribs, I finished off the ribs on the grill. Teamwork makes the dream work. Or something.

What I’m writing: Yesterday’s Two Crappy Pages involved no writing but rather some video work for a client of Johnny Boy Marketing.

What I’ve written: Woke up hungry? Eat some News Nuggies! Today we’re talking about a universal streaker, good news for dinosaurs, bad news for those with rich relatives, God’s Chicken Network, and a woman with a … special body part. All this and more, only in today’s News-B-Nuts!

Some random stuff I’ve been thinking about:

I listen to meditation tracks to help center me, and I never am quite sure why the person tells me to gently close my eyes. Is there another way? I never thought of degrees of strength in closing my eyes. I always thought that you just sort of … closed your eyes. I didn’t really think of any variation with which I close my eyes, and now I’ve got another thing to worry about.
When I scan my badge while going into work, a kind Lady Voice tells me “Please step into the door.” I’m sure what she means is “Please step into the space in the revolving door are meant for people because then the revolving door is going to revolve and you will be allowed entry into the workplace,” but instead all I picture doing is walking head-first into the actual door. This makes me smile, and I’m sure that smile makes co-workers think I’m weird.
Is anything ever more consistently overrated than the Notre Dame football team?
The answer to the above question is “Yes. Starbucks coffee.”
I like analogies, and sometimes I think of one and write it in a notebook for future use in a story or book. Of late, I’ve been thinking of turns of phrases to use when someone isn’t surprised by something. For example, “That was about as surprising as vape smoke coming from the open window of a Dodge Challenger” and “That’s about as surprising as a Trump bumper sticker on a pickup truck on extra-large tires with no muffler and a Missourah licenses plate.” Feel me?
I am incredibly grateful for how Boy The Younger sees his old man.
