Something I’m looking forward to today: Staind/Breaking Benjamin concert!

Something I’m looking forward to in the next seven days: Hosting my first DnD night. I’m excited.

Something I’m grateful for from yesterday: Some time by myself in a park on a beautiful fall evening while Boy The Younger was at his cross country practice.

What I’m writing: Yesterday’s Two Crappy Pages involved some journaling and some editing.

What I’ve written: Using AI for Accurate Information: Kartikeya Vats applies what he learned in the MSAI program to his job at Target, ensuring what the company’s website says is on the shelves matches actual inventory.

Now that Billie Joe Armstrong has awoken from his monthlong slumber and Jimmy Carter has somehow made it to 100, let’s talk about October. It’s such an interesting month.

Originally slotted where it was supposed to be, as the eighth month in the lineup, it got bumped to the 10th month because humans have huge egos. It features a day recognizing an Italian working for the Spanish who got lost and “discovered” a land already inhabited by 60 million people and then made sure that number of OG residents didn’t stay that large.

It’s a great month to be a Jew. They get to celebrate new years and atone for anything untoward they do on new years. That’s a big double win.

On top of that, Oct 4 is National Taco Day, and why that isn’t always on a Tuesday is beyond me. Two days later, it’s the Italians butting in again. Oct. 6 is National Noodle Day, which is part of National Pasta Month. Why both are necessary is beyond me.

Two days after that, we celebrate National Fluffernutter Day. If you’ve never had one, well, you’re probably healthier than I am.

The next day is Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day. Please. Don’t. Just don’t.

My favorite day of the year is Oct. 15 — National Grouch Day. Finally, a day for me.

Rodent Awareness Week begins Oct. 20. Rodents need an awareness week as much as sharks need an awareness week. I’m aware. I just don’t like them. Except for hamsters. They’re OK.

Oct. 23 is a trap set by HR — Slap Your Annoying Coworker Day. As with the teddy bear thing, just don’t.

Above all, it’s fall, and that’s beautiful, so let’s do this thing.
