Something I’m looking forward to today: Going to see the movie You Gotta Believe with the Terrific Trio.

What I’m writing: Yesterday’s Two Crappy Pages involved some journaling, but that’s about it.

What I’ve written: Continuing the AI Journ ey, a story about a dude who came from India to learn more about AI and who now is a data scientist at TikTok.

Ahh, September, the month that symbolizes that I survived another Missouri Hell Summer (almost) and the month that Billie Jo Armstrong goes to sleep for a long, long time.

Here’s something I am starting to realize: I make a lot of sacrifices for others who are important to me and do a lot of things how other people like them to be done because I like making those I care about happy — and reciprocation is sometimes very elusive. I do the things I do willingly, and I think this is part of makes me a good human. I feel people, I understand their needs, I get what makes them happy — so I do those things. Because this is intuitive in me, I sometimes forget it’s not intuitive in others, and thus, I end up feeling disappointed more often than I would like.

One struggle I have is not getting to the point of saying, “Ya know what? Fuck it all. I’m gonna just focus on me and treat others with the same indifference I feel far too often.” Sometimes, I try this, but it never sticks. The intuition and desire to do for others is too natural and strong. So I fall back into what I don’t really think is a destructive pattern but rather basic kindness, which would be totally cool if I didn’t then again start feeling extremely neglected and unseen.

Perhaps a more constructive way of dealing with this is just to continually communicate my own wants and needs and hope those who love me see and hear and feel and respond. But again, there always seems to be that disconnect between how I am naturally and how others are naturally, and the result is that I feel very, very lonely and like I’m living a life that is not my own.
