Commute Tunes: Spent my commute listening to the Mega podcast. If you’ve ever been in an evangelical Christian megachurch, you need to listen to this satire … unless you’re still in an evangelical Christian megachurch and get offended easily when people poke fun at the absurdities that sometimes go on there.

Something I’m looking forward to today: It’s Taco Tuesday in my household. Boy The Younger started this a few weeks back. We rotate among the Terrific Three, and it’s my week to come up with the recipe. Fish tacos it is, my friends.

Something I’m looking forward to in the next seven days: It’s a baseball weekend, and we better win a freaking game.

Something I’m grateful for from yesterday: A good baseball practice with my team.

What I’m writing: Yesterday’s Two Crappy Pages involved a bunch of editing for my day job.

What I’ve written: Your Car Is Selling You Out

My hometown in Suburbia, New York, was known for fog. I didn’t realize how foggy it tended to be there until I moved to the Midwest and driving by following the yellow edge line of a road all of a sudden wasn’t a thing. As such, I have an appreciation for fog, which is something I never thought I’d write in my lifetime, but here we are.

My commute to work takes me across the Missourah River. Where I make the crossing (which makes it sounds as if I’m floating across, Oregon Trail-style) is in a bit of a valley, and so it is prone to fog.

This morning’s commute was absolutely beautiful. A thick layer of fog settled into the depression in the land, and the sun was rising, big and orange, in the eastern sky. There are moments in my life where I pause and just appreciate the scenes of natural beauty unfolding before me. This was one of them.
