The song in my head when I woke up: A Warrior’s Call, by Volbeat

Favorite line from the song in my head when I woke up: Breaking your record and breaking your bones/Born a warrior with a code

Commute Tunes: My drive to work was accompanied by songs from my Hard Stuff playlist.

Something I’m looking forward to today: Some time to myself. Life is coming just a bit too fast for my tastes.

Something I’m looking forward to in the next seven days: Boy The Younger’s 15th birthday tomorrow!

Something I’m grateful for from yesterday: Falling into my music for a few minutes.

What I’m writing: Yesterday’s Two Crappy Pages involved a story for a Johnny Boy Marketing client about a woman who creates customer experiences for a company called Taskrabbit.

What I’ve written: It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for News Nuggies! We talk about visualizing happiness across the globe, why CEO raises rock, how dumb we are when it comes to mortgages, the best places to live in These Here United States, and the summer of flying spiders.

I have never gotten to the end of a tube of Chapstick. I get chapped lips. I find or buy a tube of Chapstick. I put some on my lips. I put the tube in my pocket, on a table, in a drawer … and it disappears. Never have I ever said, “Damn … this tube of Chapstick is empty.”
